Giving back to the community has always been part of the FC TORO theme. Since the beginning of the soccer club we have been supporting kids of low economical resources by giving them the opportunity to attend regular soccer practice, participate in local and international tournaments and by being of assistance to them in whichever way needed including but not limited to: support for education, health care and housing.

We provide soccer uniforms and gears, transportation, and a meal at least twice a week after practice to nearly 100 of our soccer players.
​
When participating in local and international tournaments, all related expenses are taken up in full by FC TORO:

Paperwork handling (passport, visa when applicable);

Registration fee;

Transportation;
-
Accommodations and meals.

Every year we receive a great number of applicants for sponsorship, only a limited number can be retained based on available funding. Selection is done through a series of tryouts before the start of the season, where the most performant are nominated to integrate the FC TORO Team.
​
This year tryouts are being held for boys from August 8th to 26th, 2016.
​
During the initial phases, 430 applicants born between 2001 and 2008 have been evaluated at the FCTORO Academy for sponsored positions in U10, U12, U14 and U16 categories. As we move into the third week of tryouts, 51 field players and 5 goal keepers have been retained to participate in the final evaluation stages.

This is the channel through which TRUE TALENT reveals itself.

Over the past years, we have had the benefit to watch our sponsored kids evolve despite their circumstances, and overcome various personal challenges. We are happy to see them develop and maintain a high level of performance on the field and demonstrate a positive attitude towards life. In certain cases, they find themselves in a position to give back. During this summer for instance, two of our sponsored athletes volunteered to help at an orphanage.
FC TORO AND THE SAINTE-MARIE COMMUNITY
FC TORO's community involvement has led to the development of a wonderful relationship with the Sainte-Marie community where our staff, parents and kids feel at home. As we make plans to move to our own facility, this experience will forever remain in our hearts.
